The beginners' course introduces the basic principles of Aikido

Instructors: Senior students of John Turnbull Sensei
Dates: Held 2 times a year: Semester 1 and Semester 2.
Times: Please arrive early so you can warm up before training starts. Arriving early and ready for practice is good Dojo (training hall) etiquette.
  • Mondays: 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
  • Fridays: 6:30 pm onwards
Duration: 10 weeks, in accordance with the ANU Sport Program.
Venue: We train in the Dojo at the ANU Sport and Recreation Centre. The Dojo is above the squash courts and Health Centre.
Costs: Student - $80
ANU Sport member - $120
Non member - $140
(Prices include GST)
Equipment
required:
Wear loose, comfortable clothing although we strongly recommend beginners to purchase a Gi- the training clothes.
Training clothes and equipment can be purchased at a considerable discount through the club: Gis(training clothes) are $65 for members, or $75 for non-members. For training weapons, please ask the treasurer.
How to register: Registration and payment for the course must be done at the front desk of ANU Sport, in the week immediately preceding the start of the course.
